memory | matter | territory

Memórias de fragmentos. Fragmentos de memórias [Memories of fragments. Fragments of memories] brings together works from three of my different projects, using earth as a common theme and element of investigation—both as memory and as a material in itself, with its own physical characteristics and expressive possibilities. I merge with the substance of the earth, which becomes my preferred medium for artistic creation, often leaving the material itself with the task of guiding me toward new technical experimentations. These experiences bear witness to my unpremeditated artistic research, guided instead by a deep listening to both context and medium.

From this process, material events emerge: earth particles fixed onto pieces of paper or fabric, colored stones reduced to powder contained in tape, and slate residues taking the shape of mountains—fragments that preserve the memory of the creative gesture and the stories of my place of origin, so dear to me.
